Our mission is to make Marshfield the best place to live, work, play and visit. Our acclaimed internship program allows Marshfield High School Seniors to try on a career for size-- at a member organization in Marshfield, across the South Shore and beyond. A collaboration between the Marshfield public school department, Marshfield High School and of course the Marshfield Chamber and its members, the internship program has grown to 10% of the senior class spending the final 6 weeks of their high school career “working” in an organization between 25 and 40 hours in an industry that closely aligns with their career goals. The Chamber member / internship benefits from the additional resources and new perspectives and skills the student brings to the business while mentoring the student, and assigning projects to grow the student’s skills set, experience and portfolio in advance of college, trade school or a full time career after high school. Our program is underwritten by the Marshfield chamber’s fundraising efforts and affords a part-time advisor who ensures success of the program, a closing event and awards to students. We are in need of internship hosts and financial support to maintain and grow this model program.
Each year, the Marshfield community comes together to nominate an outstanding citizen for the accomplishments, contributions and volunteerism in and around Marshfield. In collaboration with the Marshfield Mariner, the chamber collects nominations which are reviewed by a committee of past winners and representatives from the Mariner & Chamber of Commerce. This program has been around for many years and is always one of our best attended events. The 2017 Citizen of The Year was Jim Hewitt a volunteer at The Marshfield Food Pantry. This year the Marshfield Mariner and Marshfield Chamber will also be honoring a Business Leader of the Year. Tickets are on sale NOW! PURCHASE HERE --- Nominations are CLOSED for 2018.
